Low Fat Roasted Peaches and Apples

Recipe by Jackie Cameron

Low Fat Roasted Peaches and Apples

With Christmas around the corner you can serve turkey, chicken or even vegetarian sausages and/or bacon. Change can be fun, exciting and interesting.

Another great substitute is fat-free cream cheese for your favourite cheese-cake recipe. You have to admit this 'diet' isn't really so bad after all! You can also roast in-season fruit and serve it with low-fat mascarpone cheese.

Ingredients :

Use fruit in season which can be roasted

2 (220gr) Apples, de-cored and cut in half

3 small (220gr) Peaches, cut in half and stoned

Method :

1) Spray and Cook a small oven tray

2) Place fruit onto tray

3) Place 2ml treacle brown sugar on each fruit half

4) Add a pinch of cinnamon on each, 1ml honey and a light sprinkle of water

5) Place into the oven ay 180ºC, peaches will take about 10minutes and apples about 15 minutes

6) When they come out the oven decorate with roasted, flaked almonds and serve warm with optional extra honey

I look forward to hearing from you.
